Created to help rebalance your body’s natural rhythm, the Circadian Lighting feature on the Nanoleaf Essentials automatically adjusts the color temperature of your lights throughout the day to sync up with the sun. With Circadian Lighting, your Essentials Bulbs and Lightstrips will gradually shift between warm and cool color temperatures based on the time of day to provide the optimal lighting conditions for comfort and productivity. 

What Are The Benefits of Circadian Lighting?

Traditional office spaces tend to have electric lighting we can turn on or off. But there is rarely a distinction in the color temperature of that light or its brightness which may cause strain to your eyes. Recent studies of office worker performance show that those with the best views of natural light perform better on tests of mental function and memory recall.

The Circadian Lighting feature on the Nanoleaf Essentials automatically adjusts the color temperature of your lights throughout the day to sync up with the sun. By mimicking the lighting effects of the sun, it gives your body the natural signals that you wouldn’t get with a standard artificial light. 

So, just like with a healthy diet, if we feed the body what it needs, it will perform better. Circadian Lighting allows for faster cognitive processing as well as increased alertness in the morning, helping your productivity! How Do I Use Circadian Lighting?

The Circadian Lighting feature is accessible on both Android and iOS through the Nanoleaf App. In the app, enter the name of your city under the Circadian Lighting tab so your lights are able to sync to your timezone. You can then automatically sync the sunrise and sunset times to your environment and change the color temperature of your lights to suit your preference. You can further configure your automatic settings by offsetting the time, which allows you to set a desired period of time earlier or later than the sunrise and sunset time!

If the automatic Circadian Lighting times don’t align with your schedule, no need to worry! You can customize your sunrise and sunset hours using the Manual setting. Whether you’re dealing with jet lag or even an irregular work schedule, this allows you to set the lighting to suit your lifestyle and adjust to your personal schedule based on your body’s natural rhythm.
