There are many ways to dress up your home but arguably the best ways are personal and reflect a bit of yourself in them. Wall art is a great way to liven up any space! Try any of Nanoleaf’s modular and mountable wall lights (Shapes, Canvas, Elements, and Lines) and get creative with your smart lighting setup. Choose from Triangles, Mini Triangles, Squares, Hexagons (there’s an Elements wood-look option), and Lines to create custom layouts and designs that match your personality and space.
Now the only difficult part is figuring out which layouts speak to you and where to place them! Luckily, I’m here to share some inspirations from our own Nanoleaf team. See their very own spectacular setups and how they like to use their Nanoleaf lights.
Personalize The Vibe In Multifunctional Spaces With Sunny and Smart Lighting
Sunny H. has been a key member of the Nanoleaf team since the start! She currently oversees the Marketing team as the VP of Marketing. She’s set up her smart lighting display in her basement which happens to be a multifunctional space for both work and play.
The basement is an amazing area for Sunny and her family. They use the Nanoleaf Shapes Triangles and Lines as both functional lighting and fun mood lighting whether that be with guests, or just relaxing on the couch and watching a movie. In the image on the left, you can see her Nanoleaf Shapes setup, ready to go for those movie nights! Being able to control the brightness and the combination of warm or cool colors really give her control of the mood in the room.
In the image on the right, you can see our newest product: Nanoleaf Lines. This setup is perfect for when Sunny is gaming at her battlestation (which also happens to double as a work desk). Her favorite Lines Scene is “Good Vibes” because the mix of vibrant colors is simply a great mood booster! She also finds the Rhythm Scenes are great for striking inspiration while brainstorming and listening to music.
Cosplay With Erin And Her Smart Lighting Setup, Rexy
Erin L. is the Mobile Lead on the Research and Development team in Toronto here at Nanoleaf, and she’s been with Nanoleaf since 2017. She’s decided to share a layout she created with the R&D team in our office…this is easily one of the most fun layouts I’ve ever seen!
Without further ado, meet Rexy and his sidekick Eggy. Rexy is made of 54 Canvas panels and Eggy is made of Light Panels—both were born when we moved into our current Toronto office from a smaller space. Technically, Rexy helps the R&D team test larger layouts (rest assured no harm comes to him). But he does a lot more than that; Rexy and Erin keep office morale up. In the image on the left, you’ll see him in cosplay as Barney and on the right, you can see him and Eggy as Yoshi. How should Erin dress Rexy up next? Let us know!
Fun Fact: There’s even a smart 3D-printed Rexy that lives in the office.
Optimize Your Spaces With Kristy And Her Creative Decor
Kristy C. is the Design Lead for our Marketing team and has been with Nanoleaf for around 3 years. She has her Nanoleaf Shapes set up high—above her bookshelf, surrounded by plants.
Kristy lives in a condo with limited space for decor, so she likes that the ultra-thin design of Shapes helps her save on space. Having her panels up high is great because it illuminates both her working and living room. She has a preference for warmer lighting Scenes (luckily there’s no shortage in the Nanoleaf App), as they help serve as a mood booster year-round for her! If you too like a warmer color palette, here are some of her favorite Scenes to try: “Mimosa” and “Here Comes the Sun”.
Stay Productive In Your Work From Home Office With Faisal
Faisal A. is a Product Manager on the Research and Development team. He joined Nanoleaf as an intern in 2015 and has been working full-time with us since 2019.
Faisal set his Nanoleaf Shapes up in his office at home. We’ve adopted a hybrid work model at Nanoleaf so it’s perfect for those days when he is working from home! What’s unique about how Faisal uses his smart lighting panels is that he has set them up as the main light source for his workspace. Unlike Kristy who prefers warmer Scenes, Faisal prefers cooler lighting Scenes during the day to help him focus and stay productive. But he does like to warm up at night with the “Fireplace” Scene.
Some of you may have met Paul A. in one of our previous blogs and I’m happy to say he’s back for this one! Paul joined the Toronto team in 2015 and he oversees the Commerce Operations as the VP of Commerce Operations. His smart lighting setup wraps all around his living room, taking full advantage of the space with Nanoleaf Shapes and Flex Linkers.
Flex Linkers let you get really creative, so you can bend your layout around corners! Paul uses them to create separate little groups of panels around his TV and custom-built gaming PC. He loves how they “add visual interest to an area of the living room that would otherwise be kind of boring.” Paul uses his setup for more than just visual interest though. He likes to use it for ambient white light when he works and he enjoys the Screen Mirror feature when he’s gaming on the PC he built. Paul also takes full advantage of the Schedules feature to mimic the sunset for a nice calming vibe in the evening and when he wants to ramp it up and jump into party mode, he’ll pick out a fun Rhythm Scene. He’s really incorporated his setup into every facet of his daily life.
Magical Movie Night With Rahi And The Rhythm Feature
Rahi Z. has been with Nanoleaf for 3 years now as a CX Specialist on the Customer Experience team. He has his smart lighting setup in his living room which consists of Nanoleaf Elements (on the left) and Nanoleaf Shapes Hexagons (on the right).
Rahi uses his epic entertainment setup for all his movie binging needs and for ambient lighting when it’s time for a slight intermission! He likes to add to the movie magic by turning on the Rhythm feature for both panel layouts. Then he can sit back, relax and enjoy as the panels react to all of the action-packed sounds from his movies or TV shows—truly adding to the immersive experience! When Rahi’s not using the Rhythm feature on his Nanoleaf Shapes panels he sets them to his favorite colors (blue and green) for ambient lighting.
